Summary:
Pre-register/register patients entering the Emergency Dept.
Practice precision with data-collection/data-entry.
Exceptional communication and follow-up with provider/physician offices via email and phone correspondence.
Ability to multi-task, coordinate and work well with other departments.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and
Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum two years hospital registration experience preferred.
Minimum two years medical insurance verification experience required.
Experienced in a medical customer service environment required.
Experience in handling/balancing cash required.
Able to operate common computer software systems, utilizing both hospital and business software.
License and Certifications:
N/A What you will do (Roles and Responsibilities):
Responsible for timely, accurate, and complete patient registration.
Deliver compassion and respect at all encounters while assisting patients and callers with billing questions and insurance coverage determination on the phone or in person.
Registers and discharges patients appropriately from the Medhost system.
Navigate and gather data from various internal sources to ensure proper balances collected.
Responsible for calling/confirming insurance coverage through use Internet portals to obtain and system documentation:
a) Insurance eligibility and benefits, b) Financial responsibility Collects and posts patient Point of Service payments and provides notification of patient arrivals.
Advises and consults with direct manager concerning issues relating to balances assigned to patient responsibility.
Knowledge of all confidentially requirements regarding patients and strict maintenance of proper confidentiality on all such information.
