The NDIS Commission is the dedicated national regulator of NDIS service providers in Australia and a non-corporate entity under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013.

o Property o Security o Finance o Procurement o Human Resources o ICT o Internal Audit o Internal Fraud o Corporate Support Information Management 3 Security and Workplace Services Security and Workplace Services is responsible for enhancing the Commission's business, security and resilience capability through strategically and operationally managing the national fleet, property and accommodation portfolio.
Our protective security and resilience management programs ensure our people, properties and assets remain safe, accessible, secure and fit for purpose across the Commission's footprint.
Key duties The successful candidate will report to the Assistant Director, Personnel Security and will undertake the following key duties:
1.
Leading a team responsible for the operational management of the Commission's personnel security arrangements including the pre-employment screening, security clearance processes/management, ongoing suitability and separating personnel requirements.
2.
Leading eligibility and suitability personnel security risk assessment and management processes, including the development of written briefings and recommendations.
3.
Assist with the development of strategies, programs, policies and procedures aimed at enhancing the Commission's security capability and maturity.
4.
Manage security clearance processes and act as the primary point of contact for clearance holders on their respective clearance-related issues, including change of circumstances, contact reporting etc.
5.
Develop and facilitate security awareness programs and activities to support the Commission's approach to embedding a strong security culture.
6.
Prepare and maintain up-to-date information and data for executive reporting including preparing executive briefs, corporate reports, dashboards and other business activities that inform key executive decision-making processes.
7.
Establish and maintain effective key relationships Commission-wide and external stakeholders, including the Australia Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) and agency portfolio partners.
8.
Assist with identifying threats, risk and vulnerabilities across the Commission and provide effective solutions to mitigate identified risks.
9.
Ensure that team priorities are aligned with the Commission's strategic objectives.
10.
Complete individual and team performance evaluation by providing balanced feedback and facilitating professional development to enhance team productivity and individual growth.
11.
Ensure compliance with relevant Commission policies, standards, guidelines and best practices.

Essential and desirable requirements To be considered for appointment to this role applicants must be able to demonstrate that they possess:

years' experience working within personnel security or similar is essential.
2.
Tertiary qualification in government security (Personnel Vetting) or equivalent demonstrated experience is desirable.
3.
Experience in personnel security vetting, pre-engagement checking processes and understanding of security risks.
4.
Demonstrated understanding and application of the PSPF within complex operating environments is highly desirable.
5.
Qualification in security risk management, risk management or government investigations is desirable.
6.
Experience working in government or providing services to a government agency is highly desirable.
Employment suitability requirements All NDIS Commission personnel are required to meet employment suitability requirements prior to, and throughout, their employment.
Pre-employment To be considered in this role, candidates will need to:
be an Australian Citizen, and have a favourable National Police Check, and have or be willing to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting security clearance.
Should business need arise, be willing to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 1 or Negative Vetting Level 2 security clearance.

Ongoing suitability NDIS Commission employees are required to comply with the APS Code of Conduct, including to at all times behave in a way that upholds the APS Values and Employment Principles, and the integrity and good reputation of the NDIS Commission and the APS.
The NDIS Commission completes regular internal screening, monitoring and assessments to ensure all employees meet employment suitability requirements.
