Ewell, a leader in bulk food-grade transportation, is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Executive Director of Safety and Human Resources to lead and oversee all aspects of safety, regulatory compliance, and human resources within the organization.
This individual will ensure adherence to DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations, as well as labor laws, while promoting a culture of safety, health, and compliance across all operations.
Key
Responsibilities:
Safety Leadership:
Champion the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of H.

Ewell's safety programs and policies, ensuring compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations.
Regulatory Compliance:
Lead and maintain compliance efforts related to Department of Transportation (DOT) standards, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) rules, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines, and applicable labor laws.
Human Resources Oversight:
Provide strategic leadership in human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, labor law compliance, benefits administration, and employee engagement initiatives.
Risk Management:
Develop and execute risk reduction strategies and maintain comprehensive reporting to ensure minimal risk exposure across the company's operations.
Training & Development:
Oversee the creation and execution of safety training programs for all employees, ensuring the highest standards of workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
Collaboration & Leadership:
Work closely with senior leadership, terminal managers, and drivers to foster a proactive culture of safety and accountability.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Human Resources, or a related field.
A Master's degree or CSP certification is a plus.
Extensive knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA regulations, and labor laws.
Minimum 10 years of experience in a leadership role within transportation safety and human resources.
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated success in developing safety programs and ensuring regulatory compliance in the transportation industry.
