1K a year Join our team! We are innovating the future of clean air! We have a full-time opportunity available for an experienced and proactive Engineering Documentation Specialist.
This role is responsible for planning, designing, implementing and supporting our engineering documentation process, including product data management, the engineering change process, and providing internal support to our manufacturing, purchasing and sales teams.
Responsibilities Include:
Take ownership of the Engineering Documentation process, to include ensuring that current released drawings, specification documents and work instructions are readily available, accessible and up to date Determine best practices for electronic document categorization, organization, storage and retrieval, according to the needs of our various departments Oversee the document/?part numbering and revision system, to include determining the correct document and part number assignment, and the required revision control, based on rules of interchangeability and good configuration management practices Control and maintain the electronic part number database and ensure its accuracy and availability to the engineering, manufacturing and purchasing teams Lead the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process, to include ensuring timely processing of change requests and change orders, logging of requests, tracking and status accounting of approvals, monitoring aging of change requests/?orders, formal release and notification to designated staff/departments of documentation updates and archiving of superseded documentation Using our existing engineering SolidWorks PDM system, utilize CAD files in various formats to produce required documentation Convert files into forms usable by non-CAD users, such as PDFs and other raster and vector files in support of manufacturing, purchasing and sales requirements Develop and improve engineering change process procedures, forms, form instructions and other documents such as deviations and waivers Assist in transferring paper documents to electronic formats Compile parts lists and related documentation in support of compilation of manufacturing and purchasing BOMs and kits lists, ensuring accuracy and consistency with engineering documentation Provide tools to enable sales insight into product configurations Requirements:
BS degree, plus 3 years in Engineering Documentation for hardware, PCBs, wire harnesses and software in a manufacturing environment Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification (especially Access) or similar Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Acrobat as well as technical documentation Experience using SolidWorks PDM, AutoCAD and Microsoft Visio preferred Drafting certification/training is a plus Self-directed, resourceful and detail oriented with excellent organizational, problem-solving, technical, interpersonal, and communications skills Ability and willingness to use and rely on our existing processes and established guidelines in the performance of the work, and developing/enhancing processes and methods Hands-on and solutions-oriented with enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative, small team environment, interacting well with all levels of management and staff Must have a clean, valid US driver's license Must be able to work onsite in our Franklin, MA facility during business hours M-F, with flexibility for additional hours during peak times Must be authorized to work in the U.
