Engineering & Facilities Manager
We are looking for an Engineering & Facilities Manager position for a Hazel Park, MI location, who will oversee our Manufacturing Engineers and Maintenance Technicians!
Key Areas of Responsibility (Answerable for the following end results)
- Direct and coordinate all activities related to the engineering and maintenance of manufacturing equipment, tooling, processes and facilities.
- Direct and coordinate all activities related to the Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities and continual improvements. For all areas (facilities, including building, building grounds, and janitorial)
- Foster a Safety-First environment:
Ensure Accidents and Incidents occurrence and severity are reduced and eliminated per BP objectives. - Manage department to meet or exceed expectations, specifically:
- Staffing requirements, Budgets, & KOI performances.
- Quote activities
- Conduct employee performance appraisals.
- Establish clear roles and responsibilities for the department
- Build strong engineering, and maintenance teams:
- Mentor good communication methods with team and with other departments. Mentor a good team atmosphere.
- Ensure the department maintains the right skill levels to support the facility.
- Oversee the execution of all preventive maintenance activities and manual operations drills
- Lead Cross functional team through Launch Readiness process as per the BOS procedure
- Ensure department is engaged on new program development (process, tooling and capital) and the launch activities to ensure that all tooling/equipment are properly setup and debugged to meet customer specifications, cycle times and quality requirements.
- Oversee the coordination of Engineering Change Management for new and current programs, driving Quoting, Costing, Planning and Implementation.
- Ensure department is engaged on product & process development for the plant for production feasibility within ergonomic and safety guidelines, timing, allocated budget (tooling and equipment), product cost, product performance and product quality.
- Enhance the Launch Readiness process through lessons learned.
- Keep team up to date with the latest technologies and methods to enhance projects performances.
- Take part and or facilitate the team in Continuous Improvement Activities.
- Document all activities as required.
- Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management.
Basic Education, Experience, Core Competencies and Skills Required
- Bachelor s degree in manufacturing or management and 7 years related experience in manufacturing and assembly operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5 years management experience in a related field. (Suspensions, IPs and or Over-Heads)
- Prior Engineering Management experiences, including Core Tool knowledge (AIAG)
- Good mechanical / technical skills.
- Good Computer Skills (AutoCAD, Power Point, Project).
- Proficient with motion/time studies, MOPATs, MOST, and or Timer-Pro
- Experience with Automation (Robotics, conveyors, & DC Guns)
- Possess excellent leadership abilities, organizational and communication skills.

$92,500.00 $122,000.00 per year
