Summary:
Perform scheduling and administrative tasks for Gastroenterology Scheduling.
NOTE:
Possibility of hybrid remote status after 6 months of employment and once evaluated as competent to perform all duties (will be assessed and determined if feasible by direct supervisor) Job Duties:
Schedule patients for procedures in the Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Complete patient paperwork for scheduling (demographics, insurance, medical and surgical histories, and all other pertinent health information while scheduling the case).
Demonstrates knowledge of basic insurance and billing procedures.
Initiates prior authorization process for scheduled procedures.
Assist in rescheduling procedures as needed.
Answer incoming phone calls for scheduling request.
Effectively utilize all appropriate applications of the eCW computer system.
Effectively manage dynamic, potentially stressful patient encounters.
Use excellent guest relations skills in all interactions with patients, visitors and staff.
Participate in educational experiences designed to maintain competence (meetings, training, process improvement work).
Follow all safety, security, and infection control, policies and procedures.
Perform all tasks to ensure the safety of self, patient, and co-workers.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED One (1) year experience in a customer service setting Preferred
Qualifications:
One (1) year experience in a healthcare setting One (1) year experience in procedural/surgical scheduling.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
