Supports managers and employees through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication and employee engagement.
Responsible for confidential and time sensitive material.
Familiar with a variety of the HR concepts, practices and procedures.
Ability to effectively communicate via phone and email ensuring that all duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner.
Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Hourly Rate:
$15-$17/hr Duties/
Responsibilities:
This position provides internal and external customer service.
The incumbent must represent the Human Resources organization professionally by providing accurate information in a prompt courteous manner.
Perform general administrative tasks including answering the phone, taking messages, filing, typing, scanning and emailing forms and general office work.
Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, and forms; maintain physical and electronic files as needed by department.
Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
Greet and assist visitors to the office.
Maintain office filing systems and handle office records, maintain electronic files, employee records and contact lists.
Conduct i-9 verification of new hires and assist in the onboarding process.
Coordinate media services requests, maintenance requests, catering orders, and parking arrangements for guest/ new hires and events run by the Department.
Learn and work in platforms like PeopleAdmin, Colleague, Google Forms, etc.
Must adhere to University policies and procedures; interpret and apply policies and procedures.
Should be committed to diversity and equality culture; demonstrated ability to build working relationships with people having a wide variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences different from ones own.
Create flyers, communication pieces and presentations for various employee programs, events and needs of department.
Commitment to the highest ethical and professional standards of conduct.
General knowledge of the Universitys mission, purpose and goals and the role of this position in achieving those goals.
Other office duties/ projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification Standards:
Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel Ability to create and share Google Docs, Google Sheets, and sign-up sheet to set up appointments with advisor/advisees during advising season.
Ability to analyze and revise operating practices to improve efficiency Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment Exceptional communication skills Superior organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner Education:
Bachelors degree preferred.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
