This position specializes in the administration of all ages recreation programs at the Superior Community Center and the Downtown Superior Civic Space.
Additionally provides assistance with the Town's special events and recreation software administration.
Work may be required outside the regular business working hours and may include evenings and weekends.
Works under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor Facilities.
This position is non-exempt under the FLSA.
Hiring Range:
$50,835 to $66,510 Essential Job Duties Specialize in the administration of the Town's recreation programs using the Town's recreation software.
Coordinate all ages facility program and event planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and occasional on-site supervision.
Oversee and manage contractual agreements with independent program/event contractors.
Maintain records and compile reports related to the Town's recreation programs and assigned facilities.
Research and coordinate partnership opportunities with community schools, volunteer groups, local businesses and organizations, and surrounding communities Monitor and purchase supplies as needed.
Handle customer concerns promptly and provide intervention in conflicts with tact and diplomacy, and take corrective action as needed.
Respond effectively both verbally and in-person to resident inquiries regarding programs and assigned facilities.
Support front desk, including the guest services team, and overall operations at assigned facilities.
Successfully assist with various administrative tasks and the management of special projects, including facility renovations, as directed by the Recreation Supervisor Facilities.
Successfully implement directives of assigned facilities under minimal supervision.
When needed assist in conducting operational duties including opening and closing of assigned facilities, submitting maintenance work orders, addressing escalated guest concerns, and general facility auditing.
Research a variety of complex data and information, including projects related to programs and assigned facilities, and make recommendations to improve Town operations and resolve problems.
Provide a safe and enjoyable environment in which patrons, team members, and independent program contractors feel comfortable at assigned facilities.
Collaborate with Recreation Coordinators to evaluate and examine equity in core programming, and develop new and innovative programs for the community.
Provide assistance with the Town's special events and volunteer program.
Assist in budget preparation and projecting revenues and expenditures.
Gather and provide information at the request of the Communications Department for marketing recreation programs and assigned facilities.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Town personnel and officials, residents, customers, local businesses and others contacted in the course of work.
When needed serve as a staff liaison to volunteer citizen advisory group, post agendas, attend and facilitate meetings, post committee notes.
Participate in community outreach events and serve as ambassador to the community for assigned facilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Extensive knowledge of rules, best practices and the methods of planning, operating and evaluating all ages recreation programs.
Extensive knowledge of recreation disciplines, including but not limited to fitness, enrichment, senior programming, and/or arts and culture.
Experience hiring and working with independent recreation program contractors.
Extensive experience working with recreation software.
Knowledge of facility operation and oversight.
Possess skills to successfully maintain highly detailed records.
Possess skills to use computers, word processing programs and spread sheets.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing.
Ability to successfully implement directives and use independent judgment at assigned facilities under minimal supervision.
Ability to positively interact with the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other professional clientele.
Ability to coordinate a variety of programs and activities and to work effectively with other staff.
Ability to understand and successfully implement Town policies, procedures, laws and regulations relating to assigned programs and activities.
Supplemental Information Work Environment This position requires work to be performed both in an indoor and outdoor environment.
Outdoor work may require exposure to all types of weather and conditions.
Requirements of indoor responsibilities will include sitting for long periods of time.
Special License, Registration, or Certification Required Possess and maintain a valid Colorado Driver's License and safe driving record.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in recreation management, leisure services, physical education or closely related field.
At least two years of experience in recreation programming and facility oversight or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the necessary qualifications.
First Aid and CPR Certifications required, or ability to obtain within six months.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
