This would include developing and directing a comprehensive recreational program of athletic and non-athletic activities; assessing the interests of the inmates; developing procedures for and monitoring all activities to ensure compliance with established directives; soliciting inmate and community involvement; providing instruction in and officiating at activities; preparing written reports; maintaining records of participants, programs, and equipment; responsibility for issuance and repair of equipment and supplies; conducting tryouts and selecting teams and officials; and coordinating tournaments and other events.
Open Competitive:
associate's degree in physical education, recreation, recreational therapy, or a closely related recreational field, and two years of experience directing or assisting in the direction of a scheduled, organized recreational program; or a bachelor's degree in physical education, recreation, recreational therapy, or a closely related recreational field; or a bachelor's degree and two years of experience as described above.
