This position requires a detail-oriented individual who is knowledgeable in insurance verification, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
The Insurance Coordinator will ensure that all patient records are accurately maintained, monthly insurance verifications for active patients are completed, initializing and securing prior authorizations for homecare patients, assisting with retrieval of electronic referrals as necessary for contributing to the overall success of the healthcare team.
Duties and Requirements Minimum of one-year medical experience.

Understands the home health care services and external regulations.
Able to provide excellent verbal communication skills including successful customer relations.
Must have time management skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Initialize and secure prior authorizations for homecare patients.
Assist with daily billing procedures as needed.
Assist with patient referral intake as needed including insurance authorization.
Assist with retrieval of electronic referrals from multiple EMR portals.
Monthly insurance verifications for active patients.
Reports to intake coordinator and homecare Director.
Qualifications High School graduate required.

Experience in office setting preferred.
Minimum of 1-year experience with medical billing.
Able to work 40 hours a week.
Able to report on a regularly scheduled basis.
Writing, typing, and or sitting up to 8 hours a day.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excel in interpersonal relations.
Possess a strong attention to detail.
Possess the ability to progress numerous projects simultaneously through completion.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
Critical to have both cognitive and time management skills, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must possess excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to complete multi-tasks, and to work in a stressful environment.
