1.
Work cooperatively with Northwest Health Services (NHS) providers and personnel to carry out the goals and objectives of NHS according, to governing body requirements and established internal policies and procedures.
2.
Treat others respectfully whether it is a patient, fellow employee, member of management, customer, vendor or visitor to our premises.
3.
Review/research/submit denied claims.
4.
Review/prepare/submit electronic/hardcopy/manual claims.
5.
Review open claims and/or unbilled report with appropriate follow-up.
6.
Post electronic/manual payments accurately and timely.
7.
Process secondary claims.
8.
Assist patients and NHS staff with insurance and billing questions and/or concerns.
9.
Review delinquent claims with appropriate follow-up.
10.
Request patient/insurance refunds as necessary.
11.
Correspond with insurance companies regarding questions they may have as the result of a processed claim.
12.
Assist in training NHS support staff in areas relating to insurance.
13.
Complete commercial billing tasks as needed.
14.
Act as stand-in lead collections specialist as needed.
15.
Perform additional collection duties as assigned.
16.
Must comply with the provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996.
17.
Perform related work as required.
Key Performance Metrics:
1.
Days in accounts receivable goal less than 45 days; target 35 days.
2.
Percentage of A/R greater than 120 days goal 18% or less; target 15% or less.
3.
Denial rate goal less than 10 %; target 5%.
Essential Job Functions:

Must be able to talk, see, hear, react, stand, kneel, walk and sit for long periods of time.
2.
Must speak concisely with a pleasant phone voice; demonstrate tact, patience and good communications skills in dealing with patients and staff.
3.
Possess cognitive skills necessary to read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral or written form.
4.
Must demonstrate tact patience and good communication skills.
5.
Must respect and maintain confidentiality at all times.

Maintain professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Qualifications:
1.
Possess high school diploma and/or equivalent.
2.
Insurance billing experience preferred.
3.
Must demonstrate basic computer skills.
4.
Possess light typing skills.
Must demonstrate accuracy, proficiency, and efficiency.
5.
Must possess ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from patients, and other individuals encountered in the course of employment.
6.
Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License, and proof of insurance for personal vehicle used for business.
