The successful applicant for this position will help advance the school's mission with positive energy, creativity, dedication to a diverse and equitable community, love for children, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to collaborate in partnership with the Drama Director and the wider school community.
Opportunities and Responsibilities Report to and collaborate with the Director, Iliza Abbe, about duties and responsibilities Lead instruction and rehearsal for the cast of 4th-8th graders with all elements of music in the production Attend at least two rehearsals a week (rehearsals are on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:
30 to 5:
30 PM) Attend auditions and accompany students as they audition (early December) Attend tech week rehearsals from March 22nd through March 26th Lead orchestra at four performances from March 27th through March 30th Supervise rehearsal space to ensure it is safe according to school policies Ensure the rehearsal process is productive, focused, and positive Know and implement school expectations for student behavior Education and Experience Bachelor's degree preferred Experience working with and coaching elementary and middle school-aged children with musical theater and the ability to instill in them a true passion for performance Excellent pianist able to accompany and support actors Dedication to the show; reliability, commitment, and a genuine love for musical theater.
Proven track record of working effectively to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion Strong organization, collaboration, and communication skills Compensation and Pay Range This position is paid by a stipend of $5000.
