We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in Engineering to teach during the 2024-2025 school year in Santa Paula .
This position requires travel to different locations and the ability to transport provided materials.

August 7, 2024 ### General Requirements - Experience working with TK-8th grade students - Reliable transportation - Punctual, enthusiastic, responsible, resourceful, and flexible - Dedicated to supporting children from diverse backgrounds and academic levels - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment ### Knowledge and Skills - Understanding of basic child development principles and practices - Knowledge of safe practices for classroom and outdoor activities - Familiarity with classroom procedures and appropriate student conduct - Basic record-keeping skills - Proficiency in English grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary - Strong oral and written communication skills - Knowledge of policies and procedures for assigned programs and activities - Proficient in operating computers and relevant software - Excellent interpersonal skills characterized by tact, patience, and courtesy - Understanding of health and safety regulations - Extensive knowledge of engineering concepts and practices - Commitment to the 2024-2025 school year (intersessions not guaranteed) ### Essential Duties - Communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students - Demonstrate strong leadership skills and a commitment to educating and empowering youth - Exhibit extensive knowledge of age-appropriate classroom and behavior management techniques - Assist with daily attendance - Transport supplies to and from school sites - Serve as a role model, fostering positive social behavior in children and reinforcing appropriate behavior - Operate various office and audiovisual equipment as assigned - Ensure student health and safety by adhering to health and safety practices and preparing incident reports as necessary - Maintain a clean and orderly environment - Independently lead groups of up to 14-20 students from TK-8th grade - Attend teacher training, focusing on Classroom Management - Arrive on time and provide a safe, engaging, and enjoyable class experience for students - Think creatively and effectively under time constraints - Review and execute the curriculum during preparation time ### Physical Demands - Dexterity to operate standard office and classroom equipment - Ability to sit or stand for extended periods - Capability to bend, kneel, or crouch to assist students - Visual acuity to read materials and monitor student activities - Proficient hearing and speaking abilities for effective communication ### Work Environment - Classroom and outdoor settings - Subject to interruptions ### Other Requirements - Must pass a background check and TB test to be eligible for employment - Must be able to walk, run, and jump, as this role involves working with children - Completion of required online paid training through the Department of Social Services within 90 days of hire ### How to Apply To apply, please submit a resume and cover letter detailing your experience in engineering and teaching.
